How many speakers are there?

Bikepackers, start your engines! We have six speakers coming to share their passion throughout this summit. From bikepackers to bike tourers and racers, these speakers will get your gears turning and provide you with plenty of food for thought. So whether you're a seasoned professional or just getting started in the sport, this summit is sure to make you want to jump on your bike.

Will this be appropriate for beginners?

This is the perfect event for beginners to bikepacking. Over the past 2 years, approximately half of all participants have been new to bikepacking. Many of the presentations are great resources for both new and experienced bikepackers.

What type of bike can I use?

We did our best to keep the rides manageable with a wide variety of bikes. The routes for the group rides were either gravel routes in the region or double-track within the Gatineau Park. Bikes with tires 38mm in width or larger are recommended.

What events will their be over the weekend?

We've put the utmost effort possible to provide as much variety as possible throughout the summit. With morning and afternoon group rides, ice breaker activities to get to know one another, presentations covering a plethora of bikepacking related topics and a chance to make new friends and interact with sponsors.

What is the food plan for the weekend?

In 2024 the team at Centre Vorlage were awesome and ordered sandwiches from a local bakery for lunch. They also had the restaurant running both Friday and Saturday night for supper. Many people also chose to cook their own food or head into the town of Wakefield to eat.

Will the group rides have ride leaders?

During the morning rides, there won't be any official group ride leaders, however, routes will be provided ahead of time for participants to look over and upload to their devices. Many of the riders will have bike computers and will be able to guide participants on their rides.

Will camping be an option?

There will be the option to camp at Centre Vorlage for the nights of May 24th and 25th. It is important to know that showers won't be available on location, but that there are washrooms available on location where you can give yourself a wipe-down. There is also the option to ride into town (less than a km) and jump into the river for a rinse.
