Chris is not just a teacher, husband and father, but also the host of the Bikepack Adventures Podcast, curator of the Canadian Shield Bikepacking Route and organizer of the Canadian Shield Bikepacking Summit. In 2023, after 4 years hosting the Bikepack Adventures Podcast, Chris was looking for a way to contribute to the growth of bikepacking within his 'local' community. While there had previously been a summit in Canmore, Alberta, there had never been any such event in Easter Canada. With the massive amount of fantastic Canadian Shield gravel throughout the region, as well as the Laurentian Mountain Range spreading across Western Quebec, Chris decided to create the event as a means of bringing together experienced and new bikepackers alike.
Fun Facts
- I've lived in 6 countries and travelled to over 40. I wasn't sure I'd ever move back to Canada, until I met the love of my life, Sima.
- My first bike tour was in Indonesia and was taken on as a means of giving myself a complete mental reset while dealing with some challenging life issues. Those 7 weeks changed my life.
- I'm still not capable of using a CO2 inflator without messing it up.
